Pioneer Athletics to Provide Paint & Stencils for
Six Premier Bowl Games, Including BCS National Championship
CLEVELAND, OH, December 28, 2007— Pioneer Athletics is excited to announce that they will be providing the paint and stencils for the six premier bowl games being played on synthetic turf, which includes the BCS National Championship. These six premier bowl games will be broadcast nationally, with three of the games being played at the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
All of the talented turf crews will be working hard to transform their fields with new paint and stencils, especially the crew at the Superdome who started their long schedule with the New Orleans Bowl on December 21st, a home Saints game on December 23rd, then the Sugar Bowl on January 1st, and finally the BCS National Championship on January 7th. Because these are high-profile games, there will only be a limited amount of time to remove and re-paint the field for each game. In order to accommodate the various field schedules for the players, marching bands and members of the media, the field crew will be working late at night.
The three remaining bowl games will be played across the country, which began with the Papa John’s Bowl at Legion Field in Birmingham on December 22nd. The Motor City Bowl at Ford Field in Detroit on December 26th, and the Army All- American Bowl, which showcases the top high school players in the United States, will take place on January 5th at the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio.
Though the paint application and removal process on synthetic turf can be a daunting task, all four of the bowl game fields will be utilizing GameLine™, Pioneer’s newest synthetic turf paint, and Titan® Blitz Remover Solution, which will help to reduce the time field crews spend on painting and removal.
GameLine is a temporary paint that has the quality and durability of a permanent paint, but designed to last one to two games. It is easily removed with Titan Blitz, some manual or mechanical agitation, and water, without leaving a residue or “ghosting” effect on the turf. “By using GameLine and Titan Blitz, along with the normal maintenance and care these fields receive from their dedicated crews, I am looking forward to see how great everything will look on game day,” said Pioneer president, Doug Schattinger. “We are so proud that these four fields will get to host these premier bowl games.”
